2009 Children's Sacrament Meeting Presentation Songs

The General Primary Presidency gave ward Primary presidencies and music leaders many choices this upcoming year for their Presentation Songs. I met with my ward's Primary presidency recently and we decided on the following songs. I also listed the objective that we have chosen to mold sharing time around when we teach the song.

January: "The Family Is of God" (Friend or Liahona, Oct. 2008)
The family is ordained of God and is central to His plan.

February: "How Firm a Foundation" (Hymns, no. 85, verses 1 and 3)
The priesthood blesses my family.

March: "My Eternal Family"(pages 10-11 in the outline)
I will obey my parents.

April: "He Died that We Might Live Again" (CS, 65)
My family and I will be resurrected.

May: "Baptism" (CS, 100)
Jesus Christ was baptized.

June: "Seek the Lord Early" (CS, 108)
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ strengthens me and my family.

July: "I Live in Heaven" (CS, 4)
Reading the scriptures strengthens my family

August: "Families Can Be Together Forever" (CS, 188)
I will prepare now to go to the temple.

I will write lesson plans for these songs and objectives and post on this website in the coming months. Just so you know, my Primary presidency has agreed to let me teach the song for the month the first Sunday of the month even if the objective we've chosen is not the first objective. The exception is April--I will teach He Died That We Might Live Again on 29 March 2009.

Some additional songs we might include in the Presentation follow:

Choose the Right Way (CS, 160)
Quickly I'll Obey (CS, 197)

Thanks so much for these wonderful lessons! They are great. I was wondering if you had written one for the month of May and the song "Baptism?" Thanks again!
